summer has officially begun...

guys, i did it!

i finished yet another year of midget wrangling,

and boy am I proud of myself. 

i know, that was a bold statement,

but i can't help it. 

this was a big year for me: falling in love, planning a wedding, all while still not being a veteran teacher and there were times when i would literally cry out for my mommy and/or wonder if i was going to come out of this school year alive.

but people, i made it!

it's summer!!!!

we filled the last week of school with a lot of this...

my cute 24 surrogate children

and with summer here,

how excited i am to party with my beyond adorable hubby.

we've already had tons of fun, and it's only been a week.

like last week...

we visited the dinos 

(mr. stephens' home away from home)

this summer, we are also:

catching up on our favorite Civil War documentary series

visiting places around SLC like This is the Place Heritage Park and the Zoo

tutoring a few students on reading

watching lots of movies

sleeping in

staying up late

 spending time at the pool

reading lots of books

and... blogging!!! (finally)

(this surprise came just days before the end of the year to encourage the last few days survival - 

have i mentioned he is the best?)

spring fever...

spring has sprung, 

and we couldn't be happier at apt. 103...

with weddings, school breaks, and warm vacations

we've had a lot of goodness these days.

here's a sample of what we mean by goodness:

the little broski got married in March...

no pics of the cute couple (oopsie)

 but you better believe they both looked darling

and we had a fun time partying with them. 

for Spring Break, we ventured to the beautiful beaches of Mehico.

at first, it was just me, jonny, and the parentals

until a few days later when my stud of a husband

made the 15 hour trek to spend the last 4 days with us. 

i know, right...

what a hunk.

 i simply adore this face...

and what beach trip is complete without a little 

sandcastle building, eh?

we didn't just build a sandcastle. 

we built the City of Zion...

the battle wounds from this event were life-threatening...

because the mr. drove all the way to Mehico to be with me,

i couldn't let him make the trip home alone.

so we made a pit stop at the Grand Canyon on the way home

so homeboy could check it out.

he loved it...

and i love him!

kirkie's big 2-4...

saturday marked the greatest day in history... 24 years since this stud was born!

 we spent a fun-filled day together, complete with picnics, Legos, 

trains, Lime Rickys, and Easter Bunnies.

here's my 4 year old, post Lego-building sesh...

(he's simply THE cutest)

 i wanted him to turn 27 so he was finally older than me...

but apparently making it public like this doesn't do it.

 we played on 100 year old trains in Heber...

 and met the Easter Bunny who gave us these duck masks.

hot. we know.

as of late...

here's a little update

since i became a Stephens...

kirkus and i witnessed a drug bust across our hall the weekend we got home from our honeymoon. 

needless to say, 

we are super glad we live in such a fancy place... (errr...)

 the little broski got engagers...

thanksgiving weekend

i made the big move

now that we've been here for a couple of months and are all established,
